The whole race was such an incredible experience. You’re on the wheel surrounded by amazing sailors and you look around and all you see is ocean; you realize how big the Atlantic is. It’s an experience that’s hard to put in words. I can only say a big compliment to our team; they are phenomenal sailors. This was really proven in the last two days, especially since we lost our wind gear. The team were driving at night without any instruments just by feel and we were going pretty quick. We didn’t go much below 20 knots, so well done, fantastic, thank you.

Tschüss results and records 2024-2025
February 2025: Overall Winner Tschuss 2, 2025 RORC Caribbean 600
Tschüss was 1st in IRC Overall and 1st in IRC Super Zero. Tschüss 2 completed the race in an elapsed time of 01 Day 21 Hrs 31 Mins and 15 Secs.
2025 RORC Caribbean 600 marked its 16th edition attracting a diverse fleet of 66 boats from 32 countries in the 600-nautical-mile course around 11 islands. 1
January 2025: Overall Winner Tschüss 2, RORC Transatlantic Race 2025
Tschüss was 1st in IRC Overall, 1st in IRC Zero, 2nd over the line. Tschüss 2 completed the race in an elapsed time of 8 Days 13 Hrs 52 Mins and 51 Secs, and a corrected time under IRC of 13d 14:43:58.
The 11th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, a 3,000-mile oceanic race across the Atlantic, attracted sailors from 19 different nations, spanning Finland to Australia and the United States to Hong Kong. 2
August 2024: Tschüss 2 dominated the 2024 Roschier Baltic Sea Race, setting a new record, winning monohull line honors, and securing the overall victory
In the 2024 Roschier Baltic Sea Race, a 635-mile offshore event from Helsinki, Finland, the Volvo 70 Tschüss 2 set a new record of 2 Days 5 Hrs 6 Mins and 41 Secs, breaking the previous record by nearly 19 hours. Tschüss 2 not only claimed the monohull line honors but also secured the overall victory and won the IRC Zero category after IRC time correction.1 The previous record was held by I Love Poland, skippered by Grzegorz Baranowski, in 2022.2
July 2024: Tschüss 2 breaks the speed record around Gotland, claims 1st over the line, and 1st overall in the Gotland Runt.
Tschuss 2 crossed the finish line and broke the old speed record around Gotland. The race took 24 hours, 27 minutes, and 35 seconds, resulting in an impressive new average speed of 14.12 knots.3
April 2024: New IRC Record for a lap around the Isle of Wight
Tschüss 2, completed the course in 3 hours, 55 mins and 55 secs for a corrected time record of 6 hours, 22 minutes, and 25 seconds to break the Round Isle Of Wight sailing record.4
Tschüss 2 a little background
Christian Zugel, founder of ZAIS Group, recently acquired the Volvo 70 Tschüss 2 racing yacht from the USMMA Sailing foundation.5 The foundation actively supports various maritime programs for education and training.
Tschüss 2 (also known as Groupama 4, Giacomo, and Wizard) was designed by Juan Kouyoumdjian6 and built in France. After her launch in 2011 she won the 2011–12 Volvo Ocean Race.7 8
The name Tschüss in German means a friendly “goodbye”.
